Pelvic Pain and Incontinence Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy is an effective treatment for conditions that affect the function of your pelvic muscles. It is appropriate for both men and women.

Problems such as pain and incontinence can occur when the pelvic muscles are weak, or tight. Conditions affecting your pelvic muscles may also lead to pain in the back, tailbone, and hip joint.

The pelvic floor is made up of muscles and tissue that form from the front of your pelvis to the tailbone. The pelvic muscles help you to control your bladder, bowel, and sexual activity.

Physical Therapy can help you by strengthening and stretching the appropriate muscles, as well as re-educate the way brain communicates with the nerves. It may also help to reduce the need for medications or surgery.
