Who are physical therapists?

Physical therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to the very oldest, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.

PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.

What can I expect on my first visit?

When you get to the clinic you will be asked to finish the registration process.  You will then meet with a Physical Therapist for your initial evaluation.  The therapist will assess your injury, condition, or pain you are experiencing and identify what you are and are not able to do physically. From the information gathered during the initial evaluation your physical therapist will determine the appropriate plan of care for you.
